Founded on a Different Question
OODA Loop Augmented Intelligence began with a different way of looking at artificial intelligence. Rather than asking how far machines could advance independently of humans, Shaun McCarron became focused on a more consequential possibility: what happens when that intelligence is brought directly to the human being?
That question became the foundation of OODA.
McCarron envisioned artificial intelligence not simply as a tool, but as a means of exponentially amplifying human capability—extending perception, accelerating understanding, strengthening judgment, and dramatically reducing the distance between awareness and effective action.
That philosophy continues to guide OODA's work today, from human–machine systems and augmented intelligence to spatial computing, decision superiority, and the development of OAIA™.

For years, we have asked whether artificial intelligence will become human, or become capable of behaving like one. We believe the more consequential question is whether humans will eventually perceive artificial intelligence as human—or, in certain dimensions, as something beyond human.
AI is ultimately a human creation, built from our knowledge, language, discoveries, experiences, and ideas. As it begins to perceive alongside us, remember what we cannot, recognize what we would otherwise miss, and provide insight beyond what any one person could possess, the distinction between human and artificial intelligence begins to mean something very different.
We envision intelligence no longer confined to a device, application, or screen, but existing alongside us in real time—augmenting human capability and creating a new form of synergy between human and machine intelligence.
Our vision is ultimately about advancing humanity: combining human intuition, creativity, experience, purpose, and judgment with machine knowledge, perception, memory, speed, and scale to achieve what neither could accomplish independently.
